密印を稟受 bon-zyu するなり

正法眼蔵 行持 （ ５４ ）
江西 ko-zei 馬祖 ba-so の坐禅することは二十年なり
これ南嶽 nan-gaku の密印を稟受 bon-zyu するなり
伝法済人 sai-nin のとき、坐禅をさしおくと道取 do-syu せず
参学のはじめていたるには、かならず心印を密受せしむ
普請 hu-sin 作務 samu のところに、かならず先赴 sen-bu す
老にいたりて懈惓 ke-gen せず
いまの臨済 rin-zai は江西の流 ryu なり
馬祖道一禅師 （709年 - 788年)
（八世紀の禅僧 中国は唐の時代、日本は奈良時代 ）
この方は２０年坐禅をなされた
壁に面して坐禅する、この達磨大師の坐禅を師の南嶽懐譲禅師から引き継ぎます

This person has practiced zazen for 20 years.
This zazen of Daruma Daishi, facing the wall, is taken over from his master, Zen Master Nangaku Ezyo

この方は、この釈尊の「 刻 印 」 を教育の中心としました

This person made this "carved seal" of Sakyamuni Buddha the center of his education.
坐禅以外の生活においても率先して働き、老いても怠ける事はありませんでした
今の臨済宗の源流にあたる方です
He took the initiative in his life outside of zazen, working hard and never slacking off in his old age.
He is the originator of today's Rinzai sect.
