摩訶迦葉は仏会 butu-e の上座なり

正法眼蔵 行持 （ ３５ ）
ときに如来、ねんごろに迦葉をめして
半座をゆずりまします
迦葉尊者、如来の座に坐す
しるべし、摩訶迦葉は仏会 butu-e の上座なり
生前の行持、ことごとくあぐべからず
摩訶迦葉尊者
身体はやせ衰えていて
外見では、多くの僧がその価値が分かりませんでした

そこで釈尊は彼を招き
自分の席を半分譲り
尊者のお隣りに、お坐りになられました
So the Buddha invited him to
