死人の棄 su つる所の衣を取って

正法眼蔵 行持 （ ２１ ）
三つには、人に従って衣被 hi-e を乞うことを得ず
人の与うる衣被も亦 受けず
但 tada 丘塚 kyu-tyo の間の死人の棄 su つる所の衣を取って
補治 ho-zi して之 kore を衣 ki る
摩訶 maka 迦葉 kas-yo 尊者
この方がなされた 「 十二頭陀 」
その第三
人に衣服をねだらない
人から衣服をもらわない
墓場に捨ててある死人の衣服を拾って来て
それを縫い直し、それを着ていた

He would pick up the clothes of the dead
that had been thrown away in the graveyard,
mend them, and wear them.
死人が残した衣服を拾って、縫い直して着用する
夢物語、縁なき昔話しに聞こえます
Pick up the clothes left behind by the dead,
sew them back on and wear them.
Sounds like a dream story,
an old tale that has nothing to do with me
摩訶 迦葉尊者 は、遠い人でしょうか？
いや、私達自身と言えます
Is he a distant person?
No, I would say ourselves.
私達が死ねば、この身体は土（物質）に帰ります
そして生まれる時、その土（物質）をあつめて肉体とします
そう、私達も死人が残した衣服（土）を拾って
縫い直して着用してると言えます
When we die,
this body returns to the earth (matter).
And when we are born,
we gather that soil (matter) and make it our body.
Yes, we can say that
we too pick up the clothes (soil) left by the dead,
sew them back on and wear them!
キリスト教の方も、イスラムの方も、無神論者の方も
意識してないだけで、摩訶迦葉尊者と同じように
死者の衣で作った袈裟をしている
Whether you are a Christian, a Muslim, or an atheist.
Just like him, only without being aware of it.
We wear KESA made from the garments of the dead.
