ただ、けふをはじめとおもはんや

正法眼蔵 辨道話（ １９８）
その化 ke をしくさかひ
いづれのところか仏国土にあらざらん
このゆゑに、仏祖の道を流通 ru-zu せん
かならずしもところをえらび
縁をまつべきにあらず
ただ、けふをはじめとおもはんや
歴史に名を連ねし、あまたの皇帝将軍方
人々をまとめ、国を治めしは驚嘆すべきことです
History is full of emperors and generals
It is a marvel to see
how they united people and ruled the country.
釈尊が伝えし坐禅
それは、自分で自分の身体を統治することに他ならない
Zazen as transmitted by the Buddha
It is nothing less than governing one's own body
人から 「 おバカさんは、黙ってなさい！ 」
なんて言われたら、良い気はしません
People say to me, "Shut up, you silly man! Shut up!"
I don't like it when people say that to me.
しかし、それが言える唯一の人がいます
そう、私自身です
But there is only one person who can say that
Yes, myself.
