しめしていはく
その問いに対する答えです
Here's the answer to that question.
痴人のまへにゆめをとかず
へんな人には、夢物語です
Telling crazy people dream stories is not a good start.
山子 san-su の手には
舟棹 syu-to をあたへがたしといへども
木こりに船をあたえても意味がありません
There is no point in giving a boat to a lumberjack.
さらに訓をたるべし
と言うものの、さらに説明をします
But I will explain further
それ修証 syu-syo は
ひとつにあらずとおもへる
何かをして、何かを得る
Do something, get something.
前後の関係で二つが並んでる
The two are side by side in a front-to-back relationship.
そのように認識している
He perceives it that way.
すなはち外道 ge-do の見 ken なり
これは外道の認識です
This is a non-Buddhist perception
仏法には、修証これ一等なり
釈尊の教えはこうです
The teaching of the Buddha is this
何かをして、何かを得る
Do something, get something.
そこには時間差がない
There is no time difference there.
何かをしてる時に、何かを得ている
When you're doing something, you're getting something
坐禅をしてる時、釈尊の神髄にふれてる
When you're doing zazen,
you're touching the essence of the Buddha.
いまも証上の修なるゆえに
釈尊の神髄を現出させる行い
Acts that manifest the essence of Sakyamuni Buddha
それが坐禅です
That's zazen.
初心の辨道すなはち本証の全体なり
初めての坐禅であっても
Even if it is your first time in zazen
頭で天を衝き、腰を大地に埋める
With your head, hit the sky.
Bury your waist in the earth
その時、釈尊の神髄その全容が現れるのです
At that time, the fullness of the essence
of the Buddha's teachings will emerge
