証則 syo-soku にあらず

正法眼蔵 辨道話（２８）
もし、凡流 bon-ru の おもひのごとく
修証 syu-syo を両段 ryo-dan にあらせば
おのおの あひ覚知すべきなり
収入を得るために働く
Work to earn income
労働はその手段に過ぎない
Labor is just the means
普通そう思られています
Usually people think so
手段と目的を別々にイメージしています
People have separate images of means and purposes
もし覚知にまじはるは
証則 syo-soku にあらず
証則には迷情およばざるがゆえに
これをしたなら、それがもらえる
If you do this, you will get it
坐禅は、そんなぎこちないものではありません
It ’s not that awkward.
坐禅は、直結を現わすからです
Because Zazen shows a direct connection.
生活に譬えるなら
If you think of it in your life
労働が報酬であり、報酬は労働です
Labor is the reward . The reward is labor
食べるために働き、働くために食べるなら
If the person works to eat and eats to work
その人の健康は破られません
That person's health is not compromised
これをしたなら、それがもらえる
If you do this, you will get it
坐禅は、そんなぎこちないものではありません
It ’s not that awkward.
坐禅は、直結を現わすからです
Because Zazen shows a direct connection.
坐禅では、手と足すべての指が活きています
In zazen, all fingers of the hands and feet are alive
これが世界の外周です
This is the outer circumference of the world
足の親指の内側
Inside the big toe
これが腰を充実させます
This will enrich your hips
踵の踏み込み
Stepping on the heel
これが腹を充実させます
This enriches the abdominal muscles
周辺の力が中心へ降りて来る
The power of the surroundings comes down to the center
これが、星々と私達の結びつきを呼び覚まします
This awakens our connection with the stars
